A good turn out for the EGM last weekend where the new constitution was ratified and will be upload to the website, along with the minutes, shortly.
The working bee was already under way by a few eager bees when we arrived and the clubrooms tidied up. So just the gutter matts to be cleaned and replaced now ready for the greens to reopen 10am this Sat 4th October!

All members are invited to a rollup in the morning and this will be followed by a Stewarding 101 session for members interested in helping the club host group bookings during the season- and earn a $50 Westfield voucher for each session stewarded!

The bar will also be open from 1pm and members are welcome to bring a guest or two to have a go at lawn bowls.

spring twilight bowls
Although there's no formal koanga twilight bowls series this season the AIC Bar and Kitchen will be open every Thursday evening from October 23rd (and, of course, Fridays all year round). So this is the perfect opportunity to come down for a twilight rollup under lights with friends and whanau over a drink and maybe a bite to eat.

Talks are underway for the Irish Club to host a series- open to RNB members- but there will always be rinks available for members unless already booked by groups (which will always be in the Google calendar at the bottom of the Calendar page on our website

the challenge…
for 1-5Y members also kicks off in October. Designed to allow newer bowlers to experience competitive bowling, without the pressures that may come with playing Championship and Interclub tournaments, The Challenge is open to all Full Playing 1-5 Year members of Rocky Nook and everyone who enters simply plays every other entered player in a game of Handicapped Singles

Players agree the game times and dates between themselves- it can be at any time the RNB greens are available (even under lights if necessary!) that suits their availability.

More info here.

coaching
Restarting monday 6th- just in time for the start of Rapid Roll Pairs the next evening!

It's free to all members and speak to anyone who's participated and they'll tell you it doesn't just improve their enjoyment of the game but is also a great opportunity for more friendly competition on the greens at the best time of day. No need to register, just roll up from 5.30pm- all equipment provided, including club competition bowls.

So, if you haven't already, it's time to renew your membership for the coming season to take advantage of unlimited greens use, member prices over the AIC bar, free coaching, and more.
Now with new digital membership cards you can store in your mobile Wallet!
