Kia ora {{First Name}},
125 years ago this month, 3 members of Mt Albert Bowling Club founded Rocky Nook Bowls, and a year later the first green opened in the rocky nook below the railway line at 362 New North Road (picture below).
You can read more of our story here on our website (where you can also view footage of the club in its hey day of the 70s).

We'll shortly be offering limited edition club badges along with some other events to recognise the anniversary- such as the social pairs tournament open to all members, including novices - later this month, but in the meantime we can simply make the most of the legacy those first members have provided for us to enjoy.

Nau mai haere mai to our newest member Raewyn McCausland - hope you enjoy your time on the greens this season, Raewyn.

1-5y singles
The club 1-5 Year and 1st Year singles were played on Sunday and it was hotly contested, in both senses!

Paula Polkonghorne was this season’s 1st Year winner of the Clifton Cup, presented by Club Captain, Sean Carroll, while Morgan McConnell and Gordon Cowie squared off in the 1-5Y final with Gordon ultimately triumphant (pics below).

Thanks to the match committee and Teresa Cowie for managing the event and to Teresa for the photos
