Great to see new members joining the Board and we're delighted that Chris Dewar has returned to lead the club for another season. The position of Club Secretary was not filled at the AGM so the incoming Board will delegate this role amongst its members and advise who the key point of contact will be for the coming season after the June meeting.

Ngā mihi nui to the outgoing Board members, Sue Wilson, Jerrica Tomlinson, and Gordon and Teresa Cowie; and thank you to Alison Hollier for fantastic work as Bookings Manager for the past season.

The Board is also planning a Winter Hūi in the coming months to set a new 5-year strategic plan for the club and all members are welcome to attend or contribute to this.

Unfortunately, neither he nor Teresa Cowie in the Women's tournament progressed out of the initial Round of 32, though Teresa posted an extremely creditable 21-17 loss to last year's Akl Women's Champion.

2025 prizegiving
Whakamihi to all of the trophy winners at this year's Club Prizegiving, as well as our newest 1st year Full Playing members, Maree Beckett and Jim Lawn who received their club badges.

Full pics here. Not featured are Handicap Pairs winners- Simon Cameron & Sandra Drake, who were absent, and Sean Carroll who won the Veterans' Singles post Prizegiving.

Thanks to Sue Wilson for once again collating, polishing and organising engraving of the collection.

winterclub
Centre Winterclub is not far away- 3 Sundays 13-27 July to be precise. If you're interested in being part of Team Kōtare for this series please insert your details online here. Also indicate which Sundays you are available. Further information on the event can be found here.

It's a bonus 4s tournament (see info above) and, apart from having to be a bit more resilient to cope with whatever the winter throws at you, last year's squad had a good time.

There was scope for substitutes week to week and we would expect the same this year. We would need a squad of at least 10 players to enter a team. As it's more about maintaining a bit of form and keeping our membership engaged over winter we would look to involve everyone who's interested.

Ka kitē and stay warm!

PS: Whakamihi to outgoing Club Secretary Jerrica Tomlinson and hubbie Tom on the birth of happy, healthy Bridie Byrne- while the rest of us were AGM-ing on the 10th!
