Nau mai, haere mai to our newest members, Stevie Tiori, Carmen Innes, Emma Clegg and Karl Guttenbeil! Looking forward to seeing you on the greens.

We're well back into the season proper now with the recent 2025 Len Davidson Open (pic above), Raumati Twilight Bowls3Five series underway, and 3 squads in the 2025 Auckland Bowls3Five Open staring next Tuesday.

Coaching with Steve Clifton has also resumed with around a dozen members upskilling and enjoying friendly competition play on Monday evenings.

And of course next Friday 7th is our first Club Night of the year with a jackpotted $150 member draw! Bring 2 guests to bowl with you for free and don't forget some gold coins to enter the winner-takes-all Corner2Corner.

len davidson memorial open pairs
For the first time since the inaugural event in 2020, a full house of 32 teams from across the Auckland region gathered at Rocky Book Bowls in Mt Albert in Sunday 19th January to compete in the Len Davidson Memorial Open Pairs.

The tournament, celebrating the life of the club's late Life Member and President, Len Davidson, started as a club Bowls3Five tournament with a dozen teams in the first outing but after switching to to a Pairs Open last year with 16 teams the new format looks to be here to stay.

Clubs from Howick to Henderson and Kohimarama to Clarke's Beach were represented including the current men's National Single Champ! Teams strips were colourful and weather, although typically windy for this season, stayed fine and warm.

Competition was tight at the top with 4 teams finishing on 3 wins and a draw and two with 4 wins, Sean Carroll & Colin Marychurch of Rocky Nook just edged out Wade & Graham from Howick by 2 ends.

Mark Costell and Alan Weston- a former RNB President returning for the first time this century!- (PBC) came third, followed by Jeremy Reynolds and Allan Blackman (BBBC), Fiona Matheson and Lynley (KBC), and Paul Neazor and Johnboy (ABC) in the final prize placings.

Ngā mihi nui to the Match Committee and Match Director, Chris Dewar for a smoothly run and highly enjoyable event and and Greenkeeper Jamie Hill for his work in preparing the greens. Special thanks to Murray Davidson (Len's son) and the Davidson family for supplying the trophy and supporting the event.
