Haere mai to our newest members, Craig Innes, Morgan McConnell and Mark Le Lievr, and welcome back to Katrina Mitchell, returned from her overseas soujourn!

The greens are nicely revitalised by Greenkeeper, Jamie Hill (pictured above), after a welcome break, although they'll be need watering to stop them drying out now that the windier, drier weather has arrived.

Speaking of Jamie, whakamihi to him on becoming 2025 National Pairs champions along with partner Lance Pascoe last weekend.
A magnificent achievement earning Jamie a Gold Star for 5 national titles!

national open singles
Kudos to our current Men's Singles Champ, Richard Fuller, who competed in his first National Single tournament earlier this week. Richard won his first two games at Birkenhead on Monday as well as his first game at Howick the following day, but despite very close tussles with more experience bowlers wasn't able to win the additional game required to progress to post section play.
A fantastic effort though and further experience gained in the heat of tournament bowls.

The Len Davidson Memorial Open Pairs now has a record 28 teams entered but there are still room for 4 more and we'd love a full house for our showcase tournament of the season. Members are also required to help with running the event- setting up, serving refreshments and marking- under the guidance of the Match Committee.
Registrations close this weekend.

And registration are still open for our Raumati/Summer Twilight Bowls series open to anyone and at the best time of the year for weather. A great way to keep that summer feeling rolling into March. Link in the listing below.

one more thing…
There is no public bowls until Friday 24th but of course members can still bring guests to bowl any time including Friday evenings when the AIC bar re opens tomorrow (10th Jan).
If you bring more than one guest they can simply pay at the bar.
